Our mission is to ensure that future generations remember September 11, 2001 as a day of loss and tragedy, and as a day of heroism and sacrifice. We do so by remembering and honoring those that lost their lives on 9/11/01, including 42 with Michigan connections. We also celebrate and thank the brave men and women across Michigan who protect and serve our communities and the nation each day.

The memories of September 11, 2001 are often a burden borne silently and respectfully. Sadly, those memories are fading, even though the wounds are still fresh for those that lost loved ones. The Fund was founded by survivors of 9/11, who know that without the selfless actions of strangers, they too may have perished that day.

We carry out our mission with an interactive map on our website of 9-11 memorials across Michigan, and by maintaining a remembrance page for the 42 people with Michigan connections that lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Our efforts give us the ability to keep the significance of September 11, 2001 alive for the people of Michigan and to continue honoring our everyday heroes.

The fund is a registered non-profit corporation with the State of Michigan, and qualifies as a private operating foundation to which donations are deductible as allowed under section 501(c)(3) of federal tax laws.
